Howard Reece Wilson was born on September 5, 1936 to his proud parents Earl Sanford and Jeanette Reece Wilson. Howard had one older sister, Pansy Wilson Mason. Howard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ramona, and outstanding children, Sue Ann Wilson, Michael (Cheryl) Wilson and Michelle (Brian) Richards. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Robert (Jenica) Ellis, Lauren (Jose) Enriquez, Kristina (Cody) Bielamowicz, Patrick Wilson, Maximilian Wilson, Angela (Noah) Wilson, Margaret Wilson, Valerie Richards, Simon Wilson, Sean Caplinger, Lucy Caplinger and many great-grandchildren.
Howard was a generous and compassionate man who loved God, Country, and his family unconditionally. He was a proud man, a fair man and most of all he was a happy man who always wore a smile.
Howard had many unforgettable accomplishments. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1957 and remained a proud Veteran all his life. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1961 where he met the love of his life, Mona. He spent many years in the pharmaceutical and oil industries as an international sales manager which allowed him to travel all over the world. He was a member of St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Community for over 32 years where he was a Eucharistic Visitor, Worship Coordinator, money counter and many fall festivals to serve his parish and the Lord.
Howard was an avid reader, loved all movies, but especially ones starring John Wayne, enjoyed surfing the web, and watching golf on television when he could no longer play. He loved baseball and was a devoted Astros fan. He even managed to go to most of the ballparks in both leagues. He treasured trips to new lands and traveled extensively overseas and locally in his 38-foot sailboat, and because of all his cruises, he considered himself a Traveler of the High Seas! In his youth, Howard played the trombone so well he was offered jobs with Big Band traveling groups. Frank Sinatra and various “swing” bands were always his favorites, but all kinds of music made him smile.
Howard was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a great friend to everyone who knew him. He passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023, surrounded by his family, and he will be dearly missed.
