Today, we laid my beloved grandma to her final resting place. Our gathering was a small, intimate ceremony with our friends & family from near & afar.  I touched her hands one last time – the dainty hands that used to walk me to school everyday, the hands that stroked my hair at night & the hands that provided comfort when I was down. Grandma was the foundation who held the family together through thick & thin. Now that she has departed, her memory & legacy live on. Her story & sacrifices are forever engraved in our hearts. 

We thank everyone for their kind words, support & understanding during this difficult time. “Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch.”

My aunt loved Las Vegas, we often went to Vegas when Bac Hông resided in SoCal.   We drove to Vegas in a couple of hrs then Bac headed straight to the Casino.  She often stayed until wee hrs and spent time at the floor when everyone else packed and checked out.  We shared a room for 5, wasn’t meticulously lux but we had fun, lots of fun, and… always hit the buffet before heading to O.C.

She had a big presence in my childhood whenever my parents were at work. She would send me off in the morning as I board the bus and welcomed me back home whenever I returned from school. She was basically a part of our nuclear family for most of my early years. I appreciate all that she's done in helping to raise me to get me to where I am today.

We're so Blessed to be her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren . My Mom was always so kind  and  cared for everyone. So many wonderful memories  . We love her so much . We  wish we could turn back the hand of time . Rest in peace Mom  ...  You are always in our hearts . We will

Mẹ ơi, mẹ đã về nước Thiên Đàng cùng Chúa. Mẹ đã ngủ một giấc ngủ không bao giờ thức giấc để lại cho chúng con bao niềm thương nhớ.

Từ đây con sẽ không được san sóc mẹ không được ăn bánh với mẹ vào ngày Mother’s Day.

Mẹ ơi! Mẹ là đoá hoa Hồng đẹp nhất của con.

Hai Chi. Em lúc nào cũng than thiết nhau từ hồi còn sống ở Việt Nam cho đến khi qua đến Hoa Kỳ, đi làm chung 1 job, chung factory, share chuyển xe bus hàng ngày đi làm, chia xẻ vui buồn đều có nhau.

Mrs. Nguyen was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She was kind and giving. She was beautiful on the inside as she was in the outside. Widowed in her late twenties, she raised 7 children on her own during the turbulent time of the Vietnam War. She came to America with hopes of giving her children and grandchildren a better life. My grandmother helped take care of me during my childhood. I used to sleep with her at night and she would tell me stories about her life in Vietnam. She used to scratch my back and draw funny pictures using your fingers. My grandma used to talk me to school and waited for me outside the playground gate to walk me home daily. Her stories live on as they have shaped who I am today. My successes would not have been possible without her sacrifice and love. She will forever be missed and loved in our hearts and in our memories. Although her untimely death took away a piece of me, I am consoled to know that she is no longer in pain and is now reunited with her beloved late husband, son and family members in the Heavenly Kingdom. May she rest in Paradise. 

You may be gone but you are never forgotten. I love you forever, grandma.
