Holly Kennette Presley was born on August 23, 1972, and returned to her heavenly home on April 10, 2024, in her hometown of Houston, Texas. Holly was a gift from God, a treasured member of her family, and beacon of kindness and care throughout her 51 years.
Holly’s life was filled with love and defined with service to others, beginning with her education at Sweetwater Christian School, where she participated in honors choir and graduated in 1990. Due to her chronic illnesses, Holly was able to empathize and connect with others in a thoughtful and unique way whenever and wherever she met them. She touched the lives of countless individuals with her heart of compassion and dedication to her family, friends and even strangers.
Holly was a lifelong Houston Astros fan attending hundreds of games to cheer on her favorite Astro, Craig Biggio. As a child, Holly was never without her handbag, her fashionable jewelry, and her scrunchie, and this continued throughout her entire life. Holly appreciated fine art, theatre, the opera, and was an avid photographer. Her storytelling, warm hugs, and the love she spread will be the cherished memories that her family and friends hold dear.
Holly’s favorite scripture that she would frequently quote to others is Psalms 18:2 – The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Holly is preceded in death by her father Kenneth E. Presley and her stepfather Glenn D. Nitsch. She is survived by her fiancé, her love, her life, her all, Wade Ussery, her mom Zera Presley Nitsch, bonus dad Tommy Ussery, sister Kristi and nephew Tristan Ingram, whom she loved with all her heart, her bonus sister RaNell Ussery and Raymond Mensik, her uncle Leslie Overstreet, uncle Don Beard and aunt Jill Beard, Uncle Harold Presley and aunt Lavina Presley; and many cousins and extended family. All of whom she cherished and loved deeply.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you honor Holly’s name by donating to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org).
At this time, the family covets your prayers, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
