Herbert Cunningham Bradshaw, 76, died on August 29, 2021, Houston, TX after a long battle with cancer. Herb was born on February 21, 1945 in Richmond VA to Herbert and Mildred Bradshaw. He moved to Durham, NC in 1949, when Herb’s Dad became editorial page editor of the Durham Morning Herald. Herb grew up in Durham and graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC in 1969.
Herb had a long career in mergers and acquisitions, financial management and investing. Most notable were the years Herb worked for JB and Rex Fuqua of Atlanta and the fostering of the endowment of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, Durham, NC.
Herb is survived by his wife Marjorie Sealy Bradshaw, his son Sanford Bradshaw of Houston and his daughter Camp Boyd of Atlanta and three wonderful grandsons, Sean Bradshaw and Finn and Hugo Boyd. He is also survived by his sisters Kate Cloninger of Greensboro and Liz Patterson of Durham.
Herb’s life was a life well lived and he wanted no fuss when it was his time to leave it. Family request donations be made to the Houston Humane Society, P.O. Box 405028, Houston, TX 77245.
