Henry Lucas

Henry Lucas was born to the late Charlie Lucas and Sarah Ann Bell Lucas on July 04, 1925. He had two sisters and one brother which precede him in death. He grew up in Shuqualak, Mississippi and at an early age Henry gave his life to Christ and was baptized. He attended Old Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Shuqualak, MS. In 1945 he married Nora Mae Crawford Lucas, and with their unity they had one child Sarah Mae Terry.

Later in life he joined Olivet Missionary Baptist Church where he attended for over 50 plus years in Houston, Texas. He joined under the late Rev. Nathaniel T. Burks Sr. and now under the leadership of Robert L. Thomas Jr., Pastor. He was a driver for the late Rev. N. T. Burks Sr. and he was a deacon, a usher, and drove the church bus under his leadership. Henry worked faithfully in the church and in the community until his health began to fail.

Sarah gave Henry 8 loving grandchildren. Henry Lucas departed on Saturday, March 09, 2013 and reunites with his father, mother, wife, sister (Margie Jenkins), granddaughter (Nora Djuna May) and a nephew (Saul Jenkins). Those left to cherish his memory are 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
