He was born to the late Shee W. Huie and Lai G. Lee Huie, May 18, 1957, in Houston. Henry attended S.P. Waltrip High School and the University of Houston.
Henry was a successful business owner and operator, fulfilling his ambitious goal of leading an entrepreneurial professional life. He purchased one restaurant that was subsequently relocated and thrived, and created and built a second restaurant business. Henry also provided capital, advice and counsel to other ventures among the people he supported. His community of family, friends, associates, and partners brought him great joy and pride.
He was an avid collector of fine media art, particularly that of illustrated works commonly known as graphic novels and comic books. Given his keen eye for detail and value, Henry was recognized as an astute expert among artists, auction houses, gallery owners, and other collectors.
Henry is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law: Sam Huie and wife Anna, of Hayward, California; and Tommy Huie and wife Janet, of Glenview, Illinois. He was predeceased by his sister, Mable. Henry also is survived by four beloved nephews: Alex Huie, Ben Huie, Andrew Huie, and Will Huie.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 12:30 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079, the family will be receiving guests at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
