On February 25th, 2018, Henry Lee Darby Jr., 94, passed from this life to God. Born in Cleburne, Texas in 1923, the family moved to Houston in 1924. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific. A 1949 graduate from University of Houston; he married Catherine Lewis in 1950. During their 67 year marriage they traveled the world. In 1986 he retired from Denka Chemical Corp. as manager of the treasury department. He lived to lift up his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his sons; David and wife Teresa of Nacogdoches, Texas and Stephen and wife Monica of Dripping Springs, Texas. Grandchildren; Travis and fiance Elizabeth, Matthew and Stephanie. The Greatest Generation has lost one of their Best. Visitation, Rosary and Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 5560 Laurel Creek Way, Houston, TX. starting at 10:00am. Friday, March 2nd. Internment and reception follows at Forest Park, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX starting 12:30pm. In leu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Augustine Catholic School.
