The articles from local history books, and the remaining equipment from that business has been donated to the Houston Fire Museum. Henry was an Engineer mapping out the Sagemont area, as well as numerous areas across the State of Texas. He enjoyed dancing, boating, fishing, riding motorcycles, playing Poker at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas, and was one heck of a pool shark. He spent many hours at Slick Willie’s and Wild West Dance Hall playing pool. When he could no longer play due to health issues, he gave his personal pool stick and case to his pool playing buddy Bill, the Shoe Shine man at Wild West. He loved to dance a fast polka. And if you ever were blessed to attend a Methodist Church service with him, you would have heard the most beautiful singing voice praising Yahweh. Henry rode in the Houston Livestock Trail Rides with Gene Autry and Roy Rodgers. Roy kept his Palomino Trigger at the property next to Henry’s parents’ property in Tomball, Texas. That was before RV’s. They slept on the ground and ate chuck wagon beans. Henry had a restaurant partnership in Chicago years ago. He helped the homeless, and had a dream of opening a restaurant just for them. He lived a full blessed life.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. The family requests that donations be made to the American Stroke Association. https://americanstroke.org The family would also like to thank A Serene Healthcare Services for their love and support with his journey home.
