Hector Benjamin Lopez was born August 11, 1929 died May 6, 2017. Preceded in death by his wife Betty Lee Lopez, Mother Bertha Torralba Lopez Hawkins, Father Benjamin Lopez Jr., sister Irma Lopez. He is survived by his brother Bert Lopez of Houston, sister Lucretia Lopez Clements and husband Billy Clements of Texas City, Texas, children daughter Rev. Mona S. Lopez, son Matthew B. Lopez and wife Donna, stepdaughter Deborah L. Young and husband Steve Young of Wimberley Texas, and stepson William S. Glenn of Crosby, Texas, 9-grandchildren, 6-great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and family friend Janette B. Martin. He retired from working at the City of Houston after 32 years. He was a Texas City son who answered the call to service his country. Beginning his service in the famed Easy Company, he was reassigned to the First Calvary Division after an ankle injury. He once said the military was the best job he ever had. He gave his youth, innocence and body for his country. He is the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Army Occupation Medal with Clasp (Japan), Korean Service Medal and The Purple Heart Medal. He now joins his Band of Bothers and the Greatest Generation. Rest now Good and Faithful Servant.
