Hazel Dell McKinney

Hazel Dell McKinney was born in Crockett TX May 8, 1945 and went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2023. She was married to Jack E. McKinney for 58 years and gave a great example on how to have a lasting marriage. Marriage is growing with ups and downs. It builds a strong bond and strengthens you. Hazel was a wonderful momma to her children Dianne, Jack and her baby girl Linda, who she lost at 16 due to an accident. She was a faithful member of Georgia Camp Baptist Church, in Lovelady Texas. She and her children and dog Tator worshiped every Sunday possible.

Hazel worked many years as a cake decorator, first at Minimax and then at Brookshire Brothers for about I5 years. Where she was known through Crockett as Ms. Hazel. She loved the beach and the water. Most recently, she made a trip with her girls to Galveston. She even surprised all by taking a helicopter

tour.

Hazel will most be remembered for her love of family and Jesus. We are all so very blessed to have been a part of her life and look forward to the day we see her and others in heaven. Thank you Jesus for momma.

Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Jack McKinney Sr.; daughter, Linda McKinney; mother, Mary Bitner; sister, Marylee Segura; grandmother, Pearl Burson; niece, Peggy Gene.

She is survived by her son, Jack McKinney Jr.; daughter, Dianne & Alva Tippetts; grandchildren, Michael & Randi Bird, Brian & Sarah Bird, Barry & Melissa, Jimmy Bird, Kalvin Charles McKinney, and Misty Michael McKinney; great grandchildren, Aaleah, Maddi, Peyton, Emily, Brenden, Brantley, Rocky, Sylus, Brodi, Ty, Ariel, Jasmine, and Aiden; nephews, Donald & Deanna Cogswell, Travis Coborn, and Harvey Coborn; nieces, Wendy Coborn, Virginia Collins, Sheila May as well as special niece/daughter Ronda Dell Robinson; along with many family and friends.

A visitation for Hazel will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Followed by a funeral service and burial at 2:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
