Mac was raised on his family's farm in Wetmore, KS. He attended Kansas State, receiving his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Computer Science, and received his MBA from Northwestern. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Air Force as a Computer Systems Program Officer from 1970-1973. Mac made a very successful career in Computers, Computer Systems Design, and Consulting.
Mac married the love of his life, Beverly Jane (Wist) Scott on December 11, 1971 in Auburn, Nebraska. After living in Omaha, and Chicago, they relocated to Cypress, TX in 1981 where they called home for the past 42 years, raising their 2 children.
Mac was a very intelligent, generous, and selfless man as well as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always offered support and help however he could, along with offering incredible words of wisdom for all. In his downtime, Mac loved being on the water, fishing, golfing, traveling, and maintaining his aquariums. But most of all, Mac enjoyed, and took great pride in, taking care of his family and home.
Mac is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Bev Scott; son Aaron Mac Scott and wife Jennifer; daughter Amanda Jane Brautigam and husband Matt; Five grandchildren Kenneth M. Scott, Obediah M. Scott, Beau M. Brautigam, Brynnley J. Brautigam, and Brylee D. Brautigam.
Mac is also survived by his sister Elaine Suther, brother Bob Scott and wife Phyllis, sister Ruth Glenn, sister in-law Jan Wist, brother in-law Ed Wist, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ivan, Gene, and Jim; and sisters Beth Bohannon, and Marvel McDaniel.
Per Mac's wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service honoring his life will be held on July 10th at 4:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095. He requested that his ashes be spread in Hawaii, a favorite travel spot, in lieu of a burial.
