Harry H. Elliott passed away June 15, 2015 at the age of 73. He was the youngest of four sons born to William and Florine Elliott on May 28, 1942 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Harry joined the U. S. Navy and served on the U. S. S. Kearsarge from 1961 to 1966. During his tour he had the privilege of retrieving astronaut Col. Gordon Cooper upon his reentry from space. He also met John Wayne while he was on board for the making of In Harm's Way.
After an Honorable Discharge in 1966, Harry attended Eastern New Mexico University where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Business. He moved to Houston, Texas following graduation in 1970. In January 1972 he went on a blind date that would change his life. Six months later he married his love Susan Delpesce. He worked at various Sales Management positions until he found his home at Enterprise Transportation Co. in 1980, where he remained until his retirement in 2014. Harry was an outdoor sportsman. He spent many years and made many friends while hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his brothers Lance Elliott 1999 and Bill Elliott in 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Delpesce Elliott; his daughters Stacey Elliott, and Kristy and her husband, Josh Hansen; his grandchildren Rhys Hansen and Alyssa Hansen; and his brother James Elliott; along with many nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation with the family from 5-8 pm on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039 . The funeral services will be at 10 am on Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home with Brother Gene Shinn officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Elliott, David Elliott, Darren Coker, Steve Mullis, Connor Mullis, and Riley Mullis. There will be a small reception following services at Brookside Funeral Home from 12-2pm.
