Mother was a life-long Methodist, played the piano, grew astounding roses and loved her sports. She and Daddy would often have every radio and tv in the house set to multiple baseball or football games so they could keep up with scores as they worked around the house.
Her cousin once related a story of being jealous that Mother at age 8 was allowed to make things using her mother's treadle sewing machine - far too dangerous for children the other mothers thought. It made Mother an excellent seamstress and brought us hours of being measured and poked with pins.
She will be greatly missed.
