Harold went to meet his maker, Jesus Christ, early Tuesday morning while starting his work day at MD Anderson Cancer Center, surrounded by his co-workers (Jesus Lopez, Amshaad Mohamed, and Robert Sloan). He worked for MDACC for 15 and a half years beginning in July 2004.
Harold is survived by spouse of over 39 years, Jocelyn "Jackie" and son Roland Kapalski; brother Ron Kapalski, spouse Coleen and sister Joy Kapalski. Nephews Cody Kapalski and spouse Chelsea , Cade Kapalski, and niece Caitlyn and spouse John Martinez and several great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by son, "Trey" Harold Kapalski, III; father Harold Sr; and mother Lynn Kapalski; and nephews Justin and Seth Kapalski and many more relatives.
He was a Boy Scout Leader & Troop master while at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a proud father of two Eagle Scouts. As a scout leader he earned the Woodsmen Badge.
In the early years attending St. Rose of Lima Parish while raising his family, he volunteered at the school library and assisted his wife in teaching Religious Education to 5-6 year olds.
He loved his family and didn't hesitate to volunteer as a coach for T-ball and Soccer at NW-YMCA.
After son Roland went off to college in 2004, Harold & Jackie transferred to St. Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church and Harold obtained 3rd degree Knight with the Texas Knights of Columbus Council 7136.
Harold loved dancing with Jackie especially waltzes, polkas, and country & western two-steps. He loved traveling to the Texas Hill Country and his dream was to eventually retire there.
Pallbearers will be fellow knights, with the Knights of Columbus- Ryan Murray, Tom Murray, Henry De Salvo, Daniel Solis, Pat Bare, Noe Serda, and Paul Prez.
