Gwennetta Marie Powell, also known as Gwen and Netta, was born on September 22, 1967 to Roosevelt and Bobbie Jean Powell in Houston, Texas. Gwennetta dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and remained faithful to him until her death. Netta attended Madison High School and Texas Southern University. In her later years she took residence on the north side of Houston however, Hiram Clarke was her heart. She was a very active Madison Alumni up until her day of eternal rest arrived. Gwen was an employee of the United Postal Service for over 15 years. In the morning hour of November 15, 2013, Gwen was called to her heavenly home. Gwennetta was a passionate and loving mother, sister, fiancé, niece, and friend who brought a smile to each and every one she encountered. If you knew Netta, she would definitely tell you how she felt, but it was always from the heart. Everything about her will be missed, from the blender and cup of ice, to the infatuation of anything pink and white and the vibrant personality that lit up the room when she entered. Gwennetta was preceded in death by her parents Roosevelt and Bobbie Jean Powell, paternal grandparents, Albert Sr. and Exie Lee Powell, maternal grandparents, Floyd Sr. and Rosie Marie Eubanks. She leaves to cherish his memory children: Malai Gobert Sezer, Chanzs Martin, Timothy Williams Jr., Kre'vianyna Williams and Kre'von Williams; fiancé: Jon Jones; sisters: Joyce Ibe (Charles), Tonya Jones and Kenya Green (Jason); nephews: Percy Jones (PR), Ola'Tunde Idowu, Dexter Williams, Jaaron Henderson and Joshua Ibe; nieces: Alexandria Mills, Victoria Ibe; uncles: Floyd Eubanks, (Ivy), Lloyd Eubanks (Edna), Robert Eubanks, Clayton (Lillian) Powell, James Powell, Robert Smith; aunts: Polly Ann Gentry (James), Lucy Chenualt (Larry) and Mildred Obies; god-brothers: Michael Baldwin, Benjamin Belt, and Wendell Brown Jr.; god-sister: Kori Walker; god-daughter: Daunita Taylor and many close cousins and friends.
