Gustavo Guzman

Gustavo was born to Silverio Guzman and Aurora Guzman Flores, on September 27th, 1932 in Sabinas Hidalgo Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

He married Guadalupe Guzman Garza on January 20th, 1951 and they lived together in Houston, TX and raised 9 children; He is preceded in death by Wife, Guadalupe Guzman, his parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Gustavo is survived by his present wife Maria Del Carmen Pedraza, his 9 children with Guadalupe Guzman, Maria Ramirez and husband Gregorio; Jose Guzman and wife Rose; Blanca Perales; Juan Guzman and wife Sylvia; Jesus Guzman and wife Patricia; Gregorio Guzman and wife Marta; Guadalupe Guzman and wife Sylvia; Aurora Saavedra and husband Cesario; Diana Woods and husband Thomas; 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; 3 step children Alfredo Paz Pedraza; Arlet Paz Pedraza, Berenice Paz Pedraza; 5 step grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gustavo was a Baker and Farmer his younger life and moved to Houston and became a Diesel Mechanic for Stewart and Stevenson where he retired after 22 years of service. Gustavo was a loving and giving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He never met a stranger and was always giving a lending hand to whoever needed help. He was a donor to Children of St Jude.

Visitation will be Thursday September 28th, 2023 from 5:00 to 9:00 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be 11:00 A.M on September 29th, 2023, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church 9217 E. Avenue L, Houston, Texas 77012. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery.
