Gustavo Pedro Garcia known to everyone as "Popo," age 87, passed away Friday May 1, 2015 in Houston, Texas. He was born January 18, 1928 in Laredo, Texas to Juan and Ermenegilda Garcia. "Gus" was a very hard working man and at a young age taught himself how to weld. Gus is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Consuelo Moreno and his son Gabriel (Bubba). Gus will be missed very much by his five remaining children, Toni, Sylvia, Gustavo R., Gilbert and Renee along with his eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, family and friends. Until the very end he didn't rely on anyone. He still drove himself around and mowed his own yard. We are all so blessed to have had a strong and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church at 10 AM. Following the mass he will be laid to rest at Brookside Funeral home May 6, 2015.
