Gus Peter Bournias

Gus is survived by his daughter Anastacia Miller and grandson, Jagger Miller, brother George Bournias and wife Elaine of Texas, and brother Samuel Bournias and wife Arlene of Texas, as well as, his nephew, Ryan Bournias of Texas, and niece, Christina Bournias Dunne, and husband Matt of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fotini and Peter Bournias of Houston, Texas, and wife, Kathy Bournias of Houston, Texas.

Gus was born on August 25, 1942, in Victoria, Texas to Fotini and Peter Bournias. He graduated from Victoria High School, and received an Associate’s Degree from Sam Houston State University. He married his beloved; Kathy Lloyd in 1971. After moving to Houston, Texas, Gus proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, and following his return began working for James Coney Island as a manager. Gus and Kathy had a daughter; Anastacia.

Gus was passionate about golf and fishing, and loved to go for walks to socialize with his neighbors. He was intelligent, personable and an excellent baseball catcher. He loved football and baseball, and would always be seen enjoying those sporting events. Gus attended the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, in Houston, Texas, where he and Kathy were married. He loved to participate in the Greek Orthodox Festival. Gus had a love for animals, and his second true love was his little dog; Koukla.

The funeral is scheduled for the following times: the viewing at 10:00 am, with the service at 12:00 noon; located at 13430 Bellaire Blvd. Houston, Texas, and the internment will follow at the Memorial Oaks Cemetery; located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079 at 1:00 p m. Visitation will only be available from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon prior to the funeral at 13430 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, Tx 77079. The Greek Orthodox Priest will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gus’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite Autism Foundation. The family would like to thank the caregivers at St Luke's Hospital at the Vintage for their efforts and care with Gus.
