Grace M. LaFave, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Grace was born July 25, 1925 in Sioux City, Iowa to Janice and George Vigen. Grace was preceded in death by Jack, her loving husband of 50 years. Grace is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Matt Hall of Hockley, Texas, her son, daughter-in-law and grandson, Jerry, Allyson and Logan LaFave of Cypress, Texas and her brother, sister-in-law and nephew, Doug, Lili and Jason Vigen of Houston, Texas.
Grace attended the University of Iowa studying business administration. After she married Jack, they moved to Houston, Texas in 1951. What started out as a part-time job turned into 20 great years at Levering and Reid as a legal secretary. Grace was an active member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church for over 45 years as a member of the Altar Guild. There, she enjoyed volunteering at the Thrift Shop and doing creative activities with the Crafty Ladies Group. She loved cruising to different parts of the world with her husband, family and dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Grace will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. Services celebrating her life will be on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with interment to follow.
Grace loved her doggies, they were her second babies. For those desiring, contributions can be made to CAPS (Citizens for Animal Protection) or to your charity of choice in memory of Grace.
