Grace Gere

Grace was born on February 7, 1967, in Galveston, Texas to Odilon and Martha Rodriguez. She graduated from Milby High School in 1985 and received a Bachelor of Political Science from the University of Houston in 1999. She married Joseph Gabriel Gere on January 22, 1994, and they made their home in Houston, Texas. They raised three children: Christopher Alexander Rodriguez; Matthew Avery Gere; and Ian Andrew Gere.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Joseph (“Joe”), her sons Christopher, Matthew, and Ian, and her mother Martha Rodriguez. She also leaves to cherish her memory: her brother Sergio Rodriguez and wife Celia Dynora; brother Odilon Rodriguez, Jr.; brother-in-law Michael Gere and wife Kelly; nieces Erika and Alexa Rodriguez and Rebekah and Rachel Villarreal; and nephews Lucas Rodriguez and Dallas Gere; and countless friends and colleagues.

She was preceded in death by her father, Odilon Rodriguez, Sr.

She was a Vice President and Senior Engineering Analyst for MacQuarie Bank, Ltd., where she worked for more than a decade. She was beloved and respected by a host of colleagues nationally and from around the world. She loved her family, fitness, travel, reading, good wine, and fine tequila. She was a parishioner at St. Anne Catholic Church of Houston, Texas.

A visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Rosary service and remembrances at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 12, 2022, in the large chapel at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Rd., Houston, Texas 77098 at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Fr. David Zapalac, CSB, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

The family thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff of Houston Hospice, the doctors, nurses, staff of Houston Methodist Hospital, and Dr. Anna Tenorio and the palliative care team of Houston Methodist Hospital. The family also extends thanks to Dr. Luis Camacho, his nurses, and staff, and Dr. Maen Abdelrahim, his nurses, and staff.

The leadership and team of MacQuarie Bank, Ltd., have been, and continue to be a blessing to the Gere family and the family extends their heartfelt, deepest gratitude.
