Grace Rose Broughton, 6 weeks (34 weeks gestational age), of Houston, Texas, precious daughter of Monica and Trey Broughton passed away suddenly on Friday, October 13, 2023 of Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC). Grace was born prematurely on September 2, 2023 at 28 weeks and 1 day in Austin, Texas.
Our sweet baby girl brought immense joy to her parents, her big brother, her grandparents and the entire Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She is loved mightily and she will be missed beyond words. While we are heart broken and grief stricken, we know she is blissful in Heaven with our blessed Lord and Savior. We look forward to reuniting with her and our Lord in Heaven.
She is survived by her proud big brother, Bryce Broughton, her parents, Monica and Hubert "Trey" Broughton, III, her maternal grandparents, Sharon and Monte Schafer, her paternal grandparents, Lorna and Hubert "Buzz" Broughton, II. She is also survived by her loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Amy, John, Owen and Eloise Biegel of Austin, TX. Kirk, Jerilyn and Grant Schafer of Herriman, UT. Erin, Robby, McKenna and Brady Jackson of Hebron, KY.
A memorial/graduation to Heaven service for Grace Rose will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Second Baptist Church in the Chapel 6400 Woodway Drive, Houston, Texas 77057. We would like to thank all the medical professionals at the NICU and Labor and Delivery units at St. David's of North Austin and The Woman's Hospital of Texas in Houston, TX. In particular, Dr. Su, Dr. Litchliter, Dr. Lynch, Dr. Shah, Dr. Markham, Marlene, RN, Dr. England, all the NICU nurses and NICU staff.
We would also like to thank our church family at Second Baptist for the overwhelming love, support and prayers throughout the duration of Grace's life and memory.
Thank you, as well, to the wonderful staff and families at LEAH Academy. Their love, prayers and support has been comforting.
