She was retired from Great Southern Life Insurance Company and had been active in many organizations. She served as President of the Houston Chapter of Executive Women, director of the Altar Guild of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Docent and member of Lidia Guild at St. Martin's. She was a volunteer at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital for 12 years. She loved playing bridge, spending time gardening, and her "Les Girls" group. She spent the last year and a half in Colorado to be close to her family there.
She was predeceased by her husband Lake Alexander III, after 50 years of marriage. She is survived by son, John Lake Alexander IV and wife Lana, grandson John Lake Alexander V and wife Ginny, granddaughter Holly Fullmer and husband Steve, great grandchildren Lindsey Fullmer, Joshua Fullmer, Jacob Fullmer, Lake Alexander, Jack Alexander along with cousins Monette Miller, Henry Dean, and Sara Tinsley, sister-in-law Charlean Alexander, nephews Keith Alexander and Richard Viebig, nieces Sherry Alexander, Mary Jones and Debbie Moody, god daughter Marilyn Miller and two special friends Alys Cameron and Patsi Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 345 Piney Point Road, at 11:00 AM on December 20, 2014 conducted by the Reverend Stuart Bates. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 345 Piney Point Road, Houston, Texas 77024 or Houston SPCA, 900 Portway Drive, Houston, Texas, or to a charity of your choice.
