Glenda, the youngest of three children, grew up in Dallas, TX, where she graduated from high school. As a preacher’s daughter, her father encouraged her to play the piano and sing in church from an early age. Glenda taught herself to play piano by ear and shared her musical gift throughout her life. Her ability to choose the perfect song for worship services and her soul-piercing voice touched countless lives. She mentored many fellow piano players, who often remarked that some songs could only be sung by Glenda. Known for her love of cooking, a trait inherited from her mother, Glenda delighted in creating recipes and entertaining family and friends. No one ever left her home hungry, even if they dropped by unannounced.
In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Glenda had a successful career. She worked for the same company for over 36 years, starting as a clerk and rising to the position of Global Trade Compliance Officer. Her role took her around the world to train colleagues in her area of expertise. She retired at the end of 2023, focusing on her family and faith, never boasting about her accomplishments and always remaining humble. Glenda was known for her determination, independence, wit, and loyalty. She always did what was right, no matter how difficult or unpopular. Although she considered herself shy, she was never hesitant to stand up for her loved ones. In 1987, she married the love of her life, Mark, and they moved to Houston, TX. They spent 37 wonderful years together, with Glenda always putting Mark’s needs before hers. They were true lovebirds in every way and each other's best friends. They faithfully attended the Gospel Assembly Church, making many cherished friends and living their faith by example.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Billy C. and Katherine Louise (Andrew) Watson; her sister, Vivian Louise Watson; and her brother, Carl Lee Watson. She is survived by her husband, Mark Mandell Milner; children, Shenelle Leeann Graves and husband Neill, Justin Mandell Milner and wife Helen, Abigail Katelyn Milner; and grandchildren, Keegan Lanzerio, Ethan Milner, Savannah Graves, Elijah Lanzerio, Hayden Gage Lanzerio, Riley Zavesky, and Avery Milner.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this time. Glenda will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, tenacity, and unwavering love for her family. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at the Gospel Assembly Church in Humble, located at 548 S. Houston Ave, Humble, TX 77338. The service will begin at 11 AM, followed by a reception and meal.
