Glen was born March 5, 1954 in Houston, Texas, to J.W. "Dub" Herring and Jane Louise (Hartman) Herring. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1973. He was a proud member of Woodmen of the World Southeast Texas Chapter 2358. He enjoyed building porch swings and restoring wood furniture pieces.
Glen is survived by his wife Anna Rachelle Herring; his son, Michael Herring (Danalee); step-sons, Junior Youngblood (Rebecka) and BJ Guerra; step-daughters, Kay Youngblood and Christina Shealey; his grandchildren, Raylea, Hollee, Tyler, Jacob, Nathan, Nicholas, Rhino, Michael, Shon, Dexter, Derrick, Akasha, Kodi Jo, Seth, Reanna and Bryson; his great grandchildren, Caiden, Rayna, Carter, Nicholas Jr., River, Harper, and Eli; his mother, Jane Herring; his brother, Robert Herring; and his sister, Melissa Mahanay.
He is preceded in death by his father, J.W. Herring; his brother, Gregory Herring; and his late wife, Kathy Herring.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Herring, Damion White, Glenn Bodiford, James South, III, Junior Youngblood and Justin Herring. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Tyler Sims, Nicholas Nash, Rhino Youngblood, Michael Worthington, James South, Jr. and Michael Newton.
A receiving of family members and friends for Glen will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. A committal service will occur at 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Brookside Memorial Park.
