Gladys Marie Bohanan Arrington, born November 15, 1931 in Dallas, TX to Clarence Watson Bohanan and Grace Margaret Jones Bohanan, passed away on May 9, 2017 in Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Drury Landers Arrington, Jr. of 42 years and brothers, Robert Russell Bohanan and William Morrell Bohanan. She is survived by her sons, Drury Landers Arrington, III and wife, Sheila Cotrone Arrington, Kenneth Bruce Arrington and wife, Gloria Botero Arrington, and Charles Thomas Arrington all in Houston; Brothers, Clarence Watson Bohanan and wife, Julia Bohanan of Dallas, James Earl Bohanan of Kansas City, MO, David Estes Bohanan and wife, Sandra Trees Bohanan, of Dallas, and Sister In Law, Jean Flowers Bohanan of Plano; Sisters, Margaret Estelle Bohanan Coleman of Midland, Carolyn Jane Bohanan Hunt and husband, David H. Hunt of Grand Prairie, and Martha Elizabeth Bohanan Ray of Grand Prairie, along with many nieces and nephews and special friend, Geneva Trammell. Gladys graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.S. in Education and taught at Wilmer-Hutchins ISD for four years. When her husband was transferred to Kansas City, MO with the Department of Agriculture, the family settled in Harrisonville where she taught at Harrisonville ISD for ten years. The family moved back to Texas when her husband was transferred to Houston. She taught in the Aldine ISD for 19 years. A visitation service will be held on Saturday, May 13, from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Pat Foley Funeral Home, 1200 W. 34th Street, Houston. The burial service will be held in Dallas on Monday, May 15 at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
