Gilbert Salazar

Gilbert Salazar died peacefully July 16, 2013, surrounded by his loving family by his side. He was born November 22, 1942 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from San Jacinto High School and then from the University of Houston. Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Torres and father, Candido Salazar. He is survived by his daughters, Veronica Salazar (H.U.), Blanche Goodwin and husband, Shane, and Margarita Bonner and husband, Vernon; sister, Evelyn Fletcher and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Angela Palacios, Ismael Martinez Jr., Juan Reyes Jr., Sergio Reyes, Bianca Reyes, Matthew McGinn, and Monica Segura; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Lisa Mireles; nephew, Gary Fletcher, and numerous aunts, cousins, and other family.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home, where a rosary vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Historic Hollywood Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
