Gilbert served in the United States Army and United States Army National Guard from 1961 through 1966. He was a devoted father who cared deeply about the wellbeing of his children and grandchildren. Gilbert loved to watch boxing, jogging to keep fit, and go out dancing. Even in his retirement, he constantly stayed busy. Gilbert was a very handy man who spent countless hours making improvements on his house or helping make repairs at one of his kids’ homes. He was a man with an excellent work ethic who did not believe in a sedentary lifestyle and felt there was always something to be done. He spent much of his time accompanying and supporting his daughter Diana in all of her extracurricular activities. He definitely made the most of every moment here on earth.
Gilbert will be missed dearly by his family and friends but his memory will forever live on in our hearts, until we reunite and rejoice with him in Heaven.
