Geraldine Archinard Brown was born January 1, 1940, in Alexandria, Louisiana to the parentage of Thomas Archinard, Sr. and Luticia Smith Archinard, who both preceded her in death. She departed this life September 3, 2023. She was affectionately called "Geri" by her friends and family. Geraldine was educated in the Rapides Parish School System. She graduated from Peabody High School and later graduated from Grambling and Tuskegee Universities, majoring in Education. After working many years in the education field, she studied and graduated in Special Education at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Geraldine was baptized at an early age at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church by the late Reverend C. F. Smith, Sr., where she proceeded to serve in the youth department as Director, the church choir and the Women's Missionary Society while still an avid Sunday School attendee unto her departure from this earth. During her loyal membership, she also served under the leadership of her cousin, the late Reverend John D. Aaron, Jr. and current pastor, Reverend Herbert V. Baptiste, Jr. Nazarene was very dear to her heart and the only church she graced with a lifetime membership. To add to her works of service, she faithfully dedicated her time and many talents to the Sisterhood organization and to the Charles F. Smith Foundation.
Geraldine entered into marriage with Cliff Brown and gave birth to two sons, Dayved and Alex. After his marriage to Geraldine, Cliff continued serving in the military which afforded them the luxury to travel and live in several states such as Florida, Utah and Ohio before settling in Louisiana to complete his many years of honorable military service. Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas, Sr., and Luticia Archinard; sister, Carolyn Ann Archinard; son, Alex Brown; and sister-in-law, Martha Archinard.
