I met Jerry when I joined the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Volunteer Committee.   Jerry was a real cowboy gentleman.  He was also, a good dancer.  It was a pleasure to volunteer on work committees in hot weather, cold weather and rain .   We had it all when we would go to Brenham every year for the hog sive.   Jerry was a good friend and so nice to everyone.   Rest in peace Jerry

I have known Jerry for close to 30 years since my daughter Lisa married Jeff Schramme.  For most of those years the Campbells and Schrammes have celebrated many holidays and some birthdays together,  meeting at various homes.  My husband Bob and I were able to share those times with Jerry's first wife, Judy,  and his second wife, Sandra, and watch our families grow up.  Those special get-togethers continued even after we lost our mates,  They were filled with good food, good conversations and lots of fun and laughter (even playing volleyball in Lisa and Jeff's pool).  Jerry was a good and a kind person who loved his family and was fun to be around.  We will all miss him!

My heartfelt condolences for Gerry's family and friends. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful human. He was kind, funny and a good conversationalist with vast stories. I'm so grateful to have known him. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

I first met Jerry in 1972 or73 at the Industrial Fire School at A&M.  I was employed by Arthur Dooley and Jerry was with The Tackaberry company.  I was also working with Mack at Dooley so was familiar with the family.  We later became co-workers after the merger of the two companies.  After retirement we stayed in touch and we started what we called the "Old Guy Lunch Bunch" and would gather every couple of months for lunch.  The above picture was taken at one of our gatherings.  Jerry was the senior member of the group and rarely missed a lunch.

For over 50 years Jerry was a collegue a co-worker a mentor, but more importantly a valued friend.  My wife Agnes and I had the joy of being friends of Jerry and Judy as well as friends of Mack and Sandra and have many fond memories of the times we spent together.

Thank y’all for a beautiful obit about Uncle Jerry.  I will always remember Uncle Jerry’s quick wit, sense of humor and most importantly his kindness.  Many years ago when I was living in New York City, my grandfather (Uncle Jerry’s father) passed away.  I was a young buck at the time w little money and Uncle Jerry insisted I come home to the funeral and used his airline miles to get me home.  I will never forget his thoughtful kindness to ensure I was home to be apart of Papa’s funeral.  RIP Uncle Jerry, you will be miss dearly.   PS - I hope we can always continue the tradition of our Schramme Christmas family party - you were such a huge part in keeping it going and I hope we can live up to the strong tradition you created w your brothers.  I love you always and when you see Aunt Judy, tell her little Jew boy is rolling the dice and looking forward to the day that I play with y’all, just not too soon, not too soon….love you Uncle Jerry.  RIP.  Prayers for everyone.
