On Wednesday, November 20, 1996, at Jamaica Queens Hospital in New York, God blessed Odetta Montague and Patrick Charles with a precious gift—a baby boy they named Geovanni Gevonte-Odel Montague. Affectionately known as "Geo," he grew into a loving son, devoted father, and honorable soldier.
Geo began his early education at PS 397 Elementary School before continuing at Private School Cycle Education and Phyllis Academy. In 2006, he and his family relocated to Houston, Texas, where he attended Thompson Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School, and later graduated from Cypress Creek High School.
At an early age, Geo accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior under the guidance of Pastor Michael A. Pender Sr. at Fallbrook Church. His faith was an essential part of his life, and he eagerly attended services every Sunday.
Following high school, Geo enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country with dignity, compassion, and honor. His military service took him to various locations worldwide, shaping his character and reinforcing his commitment to duty.
Among his greatest joys in life was his beloved son, Benaiah L. Montague. Geo took immense pride in fatherhood, instilling in Benaiah the values of respect, integrity, and faith. He taught him to love God wholeheartedly and to always strive for excellence-lessons that will remain with Benaiah forever.
On Sunday, February 9, 2025, Geo was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Geo is lovingly remembered by his parents, Odetta Montague and Patrick Charles; his cherished son, Benaiah; his siblings, Daisean, Devon, Gabriel, Adrian, Cory, Ruby, Morgan, Geniese, and Tavon; his grandfather, Theophilus; his grandmothers, Jannis and Madella; his uncles, Theo, Dwayne, and Charlie; his aunts, Donnette, Keisha, Jemma, Mary, and Charleen; his great-uncles, Nathen, Alwin, Berthrum, Jimmy, and Samuel; his great-aunts, Lyn, Evette, Phillis, Wendy, Daphney, Gladys, Anita, Gillian, Carol, Pam, and Jem; as well as a host of cousins and dear friends.
Geo's kindness, strength, and unwavering faith will be forever cherished by those who had the honor of knowing him.
