George W. Walls was born on March 15, 1944, in Kosciusko, Mississippi to George F. and Monteen Walls. He went home to be with his Lord on March 22, 2023, in Baytown, Texas. George enlisted in the United States Air Force the day after his 17th birthday and served his country proudly for 21 years. Upon retirement, he went to work for the FAA training Air Traffic Controllers, retiring after 30 years of service in September of 2012. The love he had for his country was passed on to his family. He was an amazing son, husband, father, brother, Papa and uncle to all his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by both of his loving wives, Linda Kay and Barbara Jean, his parents, George & Monteen Walls, precious in-laws, Elmo and Tootie Calliham and his beloved son, George (Bill) Walls, Jr.
He is survived by his children, Karen Barner, Pam (Paul) Jensen, Kelly Peacock and Tina Ables. Also, by his grandchildren, Barbara (Chuck) Angle, Britney Brown, Beverly (Giovanni) Gonzalez, Brandy (Chance) Hollon, Drake Bullock, Austin Ables, Abigail Jensen, and Georgia Jensen as well as four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Judy (James) Guyton, along with many friends and family.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Saturday April 1, 2023. The visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, service will be at 1:00 pm with the burial immediately following. The Military Honor Guard will be at the graveside to pay tribute to George’s 50 years of service to his country.
