George Mason Kirk

George Mason Kirk, born December 10, 1946 in Corpus Christi, TX to George Mason Sr. and Katherine Mary Kirk, entered into rest at age 65, December 18, 2011 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his father, George Kirk Sr. and son, James Kirk. George is survived by his wife, Julie Joo Kirk, daughter, Karen Kirk Barnett, siblings; Harry D. Kirk, James A. Kirk, Deborah A. Tonne, Kathy L. Whitaker, and his mother, Katherine Kirk Deen. He attended Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi. George later taught at Miller High School in Corpus Christi and was President of the Teacher’s Association. He graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and practiced law in Houston for more than 30 years. George enjoyed experiences like fox hunting in Ireland, Christmas in Paris and karaoke competitions in South Korea. George’s sense of humor and wit delighted his family members until his final days. A memorial service will be held January 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston, TX.
