George Lowell Embrey went to the Lord January 11, 2011 after a full and loving life. Born in Brownwood, Texas in 1923. The family relocated to Houston in 1934. He attended Rice Institute until joining the Navy in 1943. he spent the rest of his duty in the South Pacific. He ended his career as skipper of DDE448. He returned to Rice after the war to finish his studies.
Lowell was a loving husband, brother, and uncle. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years Betty Jo, brothers Al and CP. He leaves his caring sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Services are friday 11:00 am at Brookside Chapel.
