George John Debes, Jr., born November 23, 1927 to George and Ida Debes in Houston, Texas, passed away January 8, 2012 in Houston. Mr. Debes served his country proudly in the Army. In his younger days, he was an avid bowler, and played baseball. George loved music and reading, but most of all, he loved helping others. He will be dearly missed.

Mr. Debes was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gina Debes, and nephew, Samuel Battaglia. He is survived by his son, Kevin Randall Debes; daughter, Lisa Suzanne Muller; sister, Betty Battaglia; nephew, Vincent Battaglia and wife, Dorothy; great-nieces, Amanda Kibbey and husband, Chris, Misty Battaglia, and Samantha Lovelady and husband, Stephen, and by other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Historic Hollywood Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
