George Edward Blake

George was born February 11, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to George M. and Mary Blake. He grew up in Dallas and attended Sunset High School. After graduation George enlisted in the U.S Navy and was stationed in Brimerton, Washington. Upon leaving the service he attended Southern Methodist University receiving a degree in general business. Following graduation he began his career with Otis Engineering and married his beloved wife, Jackie. During this time in the oil and gas industry, the family moved numerous times before settling in Houston in 1966. George was a longtime member of Gethsemane Methodist Church and attended Bible Study Fellowship for many years.

George loved spending time with his family and friends, playing golf and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Blake, his sister Louise Blake Martin and her husband Frank Martin. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Jackie Blake, his two daughters, Suzanne Blake and Sharon Reardon, his two grandchildren Nora Reardon and Sean Reardon and wife Shara, niece Judy Martin Smith and husband Tom and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Thursday, March 31th at 10:00 a.m.
