Gene Autry Keith

Gene Autry Keith was born on August 2, 1942 in Lovelady, Texas to the late George Keith and the late Bertha Mae Hampton. Gene was the second son born to this union. Gene was also proceeded in death by his older brother, George Keith Jr., early in life and by his younger and only siter Helen Marie Ward in 1995. Gene accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Houston Independent School District which lead to him graduating from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1960. Gene received his college education at Prairi View A & M University prior to him serving his country as a Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force for 8 years. Gene was united in holy matrimony to Loretta Mae Howard in 1964 and to this union 2 children were born Chandra Denise Keith (Cookie) and Kevin Eugene Keith. Gene was employed by the Houston Metro Bus Company for many years as a driver. he was later employed by the U. S. Postal Service for many years, where his career elevated to the title of supervisor. Gene leaves to cherish his memory; one daughter: Chandra "cookie"; One son: Kevin; 8 grandchildren: LaTravia, Corey Sr. (DeTwanna), Cimone, LaPorche, Kristopher, Alaila, Heaven and Imani, 3 Great Grandchildren: April, Corey Jr., and JaNiyah, One Aunt: Beechie Ola Kerr and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
