Geary James Young, devoted husband and father, passed away suddenly from a cardiac arrest on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the age of 72. Born on February 7, 1950, in Pontiac, Michigan, he was the second born of Robert and Carrie Young.
Geary graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1968. He met the love of his life, Roseanne, in 1970 while attending a party and they were married in 1971. Geary worked for General Motors for 40+ years. After spending time in both Florida and Texas, Geary and Roseanne settled in Cypress, TX where they lived until his death.
Above all else, Geary was a consummate family man. As his sons were growing up, he did something special with each of them. He liked to go fishing with Dan, coin collecting with Greg, and hunting with Garry. Geary raised his sons to follow in his footsteps and all three are devoted family men as well. Whether it was as simple as mowing the lawn or as involved as helping a brother build home, Geary would always be there to lend a hand. He loved working on special projects, especially for his granddaughter Grace’s Girl Scout Troop. Although Geary rarely spent his free time on himself, he did enjoy morning walks and a good cup of tea.
Geary is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Roseanne, and his three sons, Daniel (Shana), Gregory (Aleesha), and Garry (Vanessa). He was the proud Papa of his five grandchildren, Grace, Samuel, Timothy, Brendan, and Zoraya. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert, Tricia, David, and Karen. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Sherry and Dale.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boy Scouts of America.
