Gayla A. Brooks-Furlow

Gayla A. Brooks-Furlow, age 86, of Conroe, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Gayla was born in Houston, Texas on October 10, 1936. She was a graduate of Austin High School. She was a member of Eastern Star and had a passion for working with kids.

Gayla was preceded in death by husband, Teddy M. Brooks, husband, D.J. Furlow, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Jo Brooks. Gayla is survived by her children, Teddy Brooks and wife, Terry, James Brooks and wife, Debra, Tammie Riley and husband, Jon, Brian Brooks and wife, Debbie, Herb Walpole and wife Levi; close family friend, Vivian Walpole; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one more great-grandchild on the way.

A visitation for Gayla will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur at 11:00 AM with a committal service immediately following at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
