Gary Wayne Madden passed away on March 23, 2017, after a short illness. Gary was an avid fisherman, especially in the waters off the coast of Port O’Connor, TX. He was a pilot and fascinated with anything aviation. The love of aviation carried into his professional career. He was employed by an airline early in his career and traveled extensively. If knowledge of the South Pacific Islands was needed, Gary was the person to ask along with a wealth of knowledge of a large part of the world. As he progressed through his career, he remained in the travel management related industry until his retirement.
Gary never met a stranger and had a talent for making people feel at ease as soon as they met him. If you had known Gary for only five minutes, you felt as if you had known him for a lifetime. His brilliant smile was his trademark. People often commented that he was unrecognizable if he wasn’t smiling.
His two grandsons were his pride and joy and was affectionately known to them as “Buddy”. And, a buddy he strived to be to them.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Preston and Lainelle Madden, sister, Barbara Maineri and brother, Michael Madden.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Madden, son and daughter-in-law, Preston and Mandy Madden and two adorable grandsons, Carter and Cameron Madden, brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Susan Madden, along with several nieces and nephews.
