Gary Alton Henson

On August 8, 2022 Gary Alton Henson loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 82. Gary was born on January 6, 1940 in Houston, Texas to Glen and Blodwyn Bobbi Henson. He graduated from Aldine High School in 1958, and served in the army from 1963 to 1965.

On June 10, 1960 he married Rosie Mae Hughes and had two children Terry Dewayne and Donna Jean. Gary had a passion for baseball and bowling, if he wasn’t at the ballpark he was at the bowling alley. He was known for his wonderful smile and always being a character, and his love for ketchup. He was a good Christian man. He served as a deacon at Freeway Forest Baptist Church. He attended Mims Baptist Church of Conroe.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Glen; mother Blodwyn (Bobbi); brothers Milton and Pete; sister Karen Clayton; daughter in law Teresa Henson.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Rosie; children Terry D. Henson of Cleveland, Texas, Donna J. Mendiola of Cut N Shoot, Texas and her husband Joe; brother Timothy D. Henson of Porter; grandchildren Ada Lira of Cleveland, Texas, Valerie of Porter and her husband Rick, Jamie Henson of Houston and her husband Mark, Randy Henson of Conroe and his wife Megan and Tori Mendiola of Conroe; great grandchildren Christian Garcia, Alexis Masters, Aiden Doty, Matthew Doty, Robert Doty, Asher Masters, Lennox Garcia, and Gracelynn Henson; along with numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Visitation for family and friends begin on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park immediately after the funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers are Joe Mendiola, Randy Henson, Mark Doty, Rick Garcia, Christian Garcia and Joe Corley.
