Garnetta Pearl Robinson, aged 84, of Houston, TX, concluded her earthly journey and went to be with the Lord on April 8th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith. She shared a blissful 45-year marriage with her husband, John W. Robinson, cherishing every moment as a devoted wife and mother. Their love story, which flourished within the walls of the Memorial Church of Christ, stood as a monument to their unwavering faith and commitment, not only to each other but also to their church community. Together, they navigated the waves of life with grace, their unwavering partnership serving as a shining example of love and devotion. In addition to her role within the family, Garnetta was a driven individual who pursued higher education after her time at Choctaw High School. She earned her Associate Degree and carved out a successful career as an Executive Administrator in the oil and gas sector, eventually retiring from Lyondell PetroChemical. Her professional achievements reflected her strong work ethic and dedication. Garnetta had a unique appreciation for life's little joys, expressing herself through her love of costume jewelry and vibrant colorful flowers. These small joys added a splash of color to her life, symbolizing the light and beauty she brought into the world, now imagined as the perfect accessory to her celestial attire. Garnetta's spirit was a beacon of light, guiding others toward the path of Christ through her kindness and encouragement. Her profound impact was mirrored in her family life and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Garnetta's tender demeanor and sweet voice will be profoundly missed by all who had the fortune of knowing her. Garnetta is survived by her loving husband John of 44 years; their children John A. Robinson and Karen Gray, and their grandchildren Payton Gray and wife Laura, Jackson Gray, Savannah Gray, Kirby Robinson and Karson Robinson. Garnetta's legacy continues through her lineage. Her first and only great-grandchild Baker also carries forward her memory. Garnetta is also remembered by her sister Jo Francis Wood and brother-in-law Leroy Wood, as well as her niece Karen Denise Farrel and her husband Paul, alongside Dr. Kevin Wood and his wife Christy.
Her life, filled with accomplishment, love, and faith, serves as an inspiring chapter in the hearts of her family and community, ensuring her memory will live on as a testament to a life well-lived.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024 at Memorial Church of Christ, 900 Echo Ln, Houston, Texas 77024. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will be held in Houston National Cemetery.
