Garnet was born on the island of Trinidad, spending his earliest years in both the United States and Barbados but most of his formative years back in Trinidad. He attended Fatima College representing them in both his primary sporting passion, field hockey as well as badminton. He continued his studies abroad at Pickering College in Ontario before beginning tertiary studies at the University of Alberta and later the University of Toronto.
Garnet was a practitioner and therefore it was unsurprising that he excelled on the job, first transferring directly to Halliburton from IBM and later accepting an internal request to transfer from Halliburton's office in Trinidad to their office in Houston. He consequently resided here in Houston for the last 17 years of his life adding new friends to the many family members and friends in Trinidad.
He is survived by his father Martin, mother Joyce, brother Nigel, sister Asha, niece Lucia, nephew Zayne, brother-in-law Clinton as well as former wife Michelle, step-daughters Danielle and Michella and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
You will be dearly missed by us all!
