Gale H. Manning passed away April 15, 2019 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Gale was born November 27, 1940 to Gale H. & Frances Manning in Jackson, Mississippi. The family moved to New Orleans where Gale graduated from Fortier High School, in 1959. He spent a short time at LSU, then joined the US Army and was stationed in Paris France. Three years later returned to LSU and received his degree. He was hired by Sinclair Oil Co, which in turn brought him to Houston. Later Gale was hired by Texas Commerce Bank, which is now Chase where he retired in 1999.
Gale leaves his wife of 48 years, Dolores Manning, his niece Nancy Thompson of Springfield, MO, sister-in-law Nancy Schmitt, niece Karen Murphy (Jim), great nephews Jimmy Murphy (Erin) of St Johns, FL), John Murphy of Dallas, TX, Will Murphy of Oxford, MS, nephew Kevin Schmitt) (Holly), great niece Lauren Schmitt, & great nephew Kyle Schmitt of Lubbock. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery on April 19, 2019.
