He graduated from Bedias High School. He attended Sam Houston State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree. He attended the University of Houston where he received his Masters degree. He worked on a doctorate degree at Texas A&M University.
He served in the Army tank division in the Korean War for two years.
Gail taught school in Bedias, Tomball, and Spring Branch. He then became Tax Assessor for Spring Branch ISD.
After retiring from Spring Branch ISD, he worked as a consultant at a law firm. He also served on the board for Harris County Appraisal District.
Gail is survived by his wife, Jene, who he was married to for 65 years, a son Tom, a daughter Shelly, a grandson James and a great grandson Ezra. Gail was preceded in death by his oldest son Nick.
A visitation with family & friends for Gail will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079 with committal service to follow.
Serving as pallbearers are Mike Williams , Mike Digel, Tom H. Jackson , Gary Johnson , Ray Slaughter and Charles Lewis .
