Gabriel Lopez

Gabriel Lopez passed away on November 23, 2017. He was born on May 12, 1960 in Estado de Jalisco, Mexico to parents, Emilia and Rafael Lopez. Gabriel was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Jose Moreno. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Maria Lopez; daughter, Melissa Lopez; three sons, Jaime Cabrera, Arnulfo Cabrera, Gabriel Lopez; ten grandchildren, Alexis, Mari Carmen, Allison, Nevaeh, Jaime Jr., James, Jose, Alex, Christian Jonathan; great granddaughter Jaylin great grandsons, Josiah and Jayden; four sisters, Mercedes Lopez, Sonia Lopez, Guadalupe Lopez, and Socorro Lopez; six brothers, Miguel Lopez, Jesus Lopez, Rafael Lopez, Carlos Lopez, Javier Lopez, and Salvador Lopez; as well as numerous friends and other family members. Gabriel moved to Houston at the age of 18 from Mexico. He was a hard working man who moved his way up in different restaurants working as a chef. In his mid 30’s he moved to Arkansas with his family and began working for Tyson Foods, Inc. where he worked over 20 years until he got ill. In his spare time, he served as an usher at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and enjoyed doing his many hobbies. He loved cooking, working outdoors, gardening and fishing. He also enjoyed getting away some weekends with his wife to nearby casinos. Gabriel was a loving caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by many and loved forever.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM; and a funeral service on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas 77098; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
