.Mrs. Leung Mui, Fung Mei was born in Taishan, Guangdong on August 17, 1924 and passed away on Feb 25, 2012, at the age of 88. She was the oldest of three siblings: her brother has passed away and her sister is currently residing in New York.
She married Mr. Wing Poon Leung while living in Taishan. After he passed away 26 years ago, she moved from Taishan to Hong Kong. Subsequently, she emigrated to South America and stayed there for 2 years before emigrating to the United States, where she lived in New York.
In order to help take care of her grand children, Mrs. Leung moved to Houston, where she saw them grow up to be fine adults, of whom she was most proud. Her greatest pride and joy has always been her children and grand children, and they in turn showered her with affection and respect.
Mrs. Leung loved to watch TV soap operas. She used to be a Buddhist, however, about two months after she moved into the nursing home, she had a change of mind. She responded to the Gospel and became a Christian, a child of God. She regretted the fact that she was not able to go to church, but she was very thankful for God’s salvation.
Mrs. Leung was survived by her son, Nelson Leung and wife Kam; daughter, Susana Mok and husband Enrique, daughter, Cindy Moy and husband Gar Foo, Karen Choy and husband Danny; grandchildren, Herman Leung, Annie So and husband Tika, Roberto Mok and wife Nona, David Mok, Ivan Mok and wife Joy, Harvey Moy and wife May, Jamie Moy, Jadnnie Chiv and husband Scott, Jennifer Reyes and husband Jonathan; sister, Suet Ho Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday March 9, 2012 in the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77079 with the Rev. Paul See Officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
