Dr. Khuri was born on the 22nd of February 1928, in Aley, Lebanon, to Ilyas and Tuffaha (Touma) Shibel-Khuri. He completed his undergraduate studies at the American University of Beirut and went on to receive his Masters and PhD in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. He held several prestigious positions with Dow Chemical, the U.S. Air Force, and C.R.S., Inc before establishing his own engineering practice. He and his family made Houston their home in 1979.
He was always a dedicated husband and father, who had a great sense of humor and a very loving heart. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.
Dr. Khuri is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lily; his daughters, Terry Ann Watson and her husband Tom, Charmaine Stuteville, Valerie Hale and her husband Trevor, Heather Berglund and her husband Jon; and his son, Paul Khuri and his wife Penelope. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and one 1 great-grandchild.
A memorial service is to be conducted at four o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 25th of June, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where Fr. Pierre Khoury, of the Maronite Church, is to serve as celebrant.
