My condolences Eunice for your loss. Mr Witt was a wonderful person. He along with so many of the Trinity teaching staff influenced and help define the morals of many children blessed to be in his 4th grade class. It never ceases to amaze me how influential Mr. Witt and his fellow teachers were as I live this life. I thank the good Lord daily for having such wonderful,loving guidance so long ago. I hope you find comfort in knowing he was so important to so many. Thank you for sharing him with all of us. We are all better for it.

My condolences to Eunice,Edward and Karen. I will always remember talking to Fred about the railroad and giving him my railroad calendars.He taught my children was always an inspiration. Fred you will be missed.God be with the family.

What a wonderful career Fred had at Trinity.  After reading all the accolades the former students wrote, it was nice to see how much he was appreciated.  We had a lot of fun teaching and coaching all the students that came through the system. Going to all the teachers conferences in Austin was always a highlight of the year.  The one in August was really brutal, as there was no air-conditioning in the dorms.  Sleeping on the roof was not a much better option. Your family visit to our cabin in California was always an adventure. It was so great that you guys made the effort to come west.
He was a real blessing to be on the Trinity faculty those many years.  He is now enjoying his heavenly reward. Blessings to you all.

Mr. Witt was a GREAT 4th grade teacher. He also taught most of my family. He was a wonderful person and my thoughts & prayers are with his family at this time. God bless you.

I have so many great memories of Mr. Witt. The highlight being the year I got to be in his 4th grade class.  That was the most enjoyable year of school I ever experienced.  He made class so much fun.  You never wanted to miss a day of school when you had Mr. Witt as your teacher.  There was no telling what fun you would miss out on. Beyond the fun Mr. Witt was a great example of living your faith. He was someone to look up to and emulate. He taught me to have fun and enjoy what I was doing, and he also taught me that you can do whatever it is you set your mind too. Mr. Witt knew I wanted to be better at football and he would take the time to throw the football with me after school or at recess. He was always there with words of encouragement. I have always been grateful to him for that.  I know God put Mr. Witt in my life.  I know God put Mr. Witt in a lot of peoples lives.  And we are all the better for having known him.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mr. Witt's passing. He was a phenomenal teacher, that cared deeply for his students. Years after I sat in his fourth grade classroom he came up to me in a store just to say hello. He hadn't seen me in years but just wanted to say hi. I pray my children have teachers like him.
Our prayers go out to his family at this sad time.

My condolences to the family of Frederick Witt. May the GOD of all comfort provide you with whatever is needed so you can cope with your great loss. Also there will be a end to all causes of death and the heartaches it brings.

Where do I begin?  He was my uncle, my godfather and my 4th grade teacher.  He always had a smile on his face and it was obvious he loved teaching.  I remember all the funny things he drew on the overhead projector and the great masks he made and helped us make with brown paper bags!  I remember kickball on the parking lot behind the old school building.  I remember him asking me if I had money for ice cream at lunch and if I didn't he gave it to me.  I remember NOT getting swats when I broke a test tube after he said the next person who broke one would get swats.  I remember a man who loved his Lord and Savior and shared that faith daily to the many, many students who passed through his classroom.  Go rest high on that mountain Uncle Freddie…your work here is done.

Mr. Witt taught my daughters Monnie and Dana, and then years later my grandchild Tyna. Mr Witt was always smiling and happy. He loved his job and his students and it showed.  Mrs. Witt, I am so sad over your loss. You and Mr Witt always seemed so happy... You could tell how close your family was. I have always admired both of you. I never saw either of you without a smile or a kind word. True Christians in the real sense of the word. So sorry to hear about my great neighbor, Fred. My thoughts are with Eunice, Karen and Edward. Fred always had a kind word and loved to hear about my girls. His smile will be missed on our little street. He took joy in the annual appearance of Black-crowned Night Herons, tales of Smith's and Zephyr's exploits, the little blooms on my desert sages and joining gatherings of the residents of this little hill on White Oak Bayou.
We'll all be with you soon enough, Fred. Until then you will be remembered with a smile.

Mr. Witt was one of the most AWESOME teachers I had at Trinity and he will be greatly missed!.I recall when I first entered his classroom, I asked to be excused to get some water, he asked " Why" I replied,"because I have hick-ups" and he replied, " hick -down Melody" I remember just smiling and asking how do you hick-down? LOL!

This is hard time to face for Fredrick's family. May God, as he assures us in his Word, give you the peace you need to cope with the pain of such a caring man.(Philippians 4:6,7)

I was one of the many students blessed with having Mr. Witt as my 4th grade teacher.  My condolensces to his family.  Rest well good and faithful servant.

SOme of the girls in our 4th grade class would fight over who would hang his coat up for him.  It always smelled so good!!!
He never forgot who his students were thruthe years.  What a smile!  God be with you all-I know how greatly he will be missed

Very sorry to hear of Mr. Witt's passing. I was in one of his early 4th grade classes ('60-'61)and he stands out as one of my favorites - great in the classroom and fun at recess.

There is so much to say about a man that changed  a life so drastically in such a wonderful way. He was the father figure to me in so many ways, he loved, he accepted, he was kind and oh so funny. His smile was never just a smile but he eyes made it all as if it was just for me. He never gave me anything but good thoughts and when I was in trouble it seemed he just didn't hit as hard as the rest. He gave me a sense of acceptance when I was feeling most 'the outcast' and never stifled my creativity. He turned my 'ADD' into laughter or quietly would convinced me to be still without making me feel embarrassed or stupid. When he smiled at me his eyes would say, " you are special'. I would hope that the things he gave me the one year in class and the next four just being around him is why I am the person, parent, wife, mother and grandmother I  am today. He was Loving, patient , kind, fun, and oh so wise. Thank you for planting your smile and kindness in a little girl so that she would understand later in life why you did it.......it was a God thing...   Thank you Eunice, for loving him and allowing him to continue to love us...

I don't know what to say. so I will take opportunity since I cannot be there to day this in person......I apologize for the length....
 Until today.....Mr. Witt was always my password, my secret questions answer, my security question answer to things in the internet world. But for always it will always be still,  the answer I give when someone ask, " who was the  most influential  person in my life?' the answer has always been for 30 plus years now, 'Mr. Witt, my 4th grade teacher.!'. even though we leave and never keep up or go our separate ways, raise our families move on...there was always that one thing that made me say , I can do it, I am special, and that I belong. That is what he did for me!...He never said a cross word, none of the teachers there ever did,(well... maybe MR F once in a while but coaches are allowed, that's what makes a great team lol) but Mr Witt never let me think that I was not 'a part of his class'. Even though his smile is something everyone remembers, sometimes it was not just the smile but he would look at me with his kind eyes and I knew it was just for me!
 He allowed me to 'be funny' , I guess because we didn't have ADD at the time ;-)... and never put me down as a child or scolded me for 'bouncing' off the walls. I thank him for that. When he got married I thought he would be taken away but instead he seemed even more happy. (go figure she was a  'James bond brunette va va voom!) He never stifled our creativity but brought it out.   If I was the last to finish lunch, he would wait  or not chosen on a team HE WOULD  ALWAYS choose ME! Oh yes,  the 'smile' and his laugh that made me love school. When it seemed like I was all alone he was there. He NEVER put me on the spot yet when I was in trouble (which I am sure was rare lol) It seemed he never hit (paddled) as hard as the others.. maybe that was because his heart was so big when it came to us kids, at least THAT is what I SAW. Not having a mother or father....... I was always looking for that Father figure, or the protector. He made such an influence in my life by being so positive, and  to a child that wasn't sure she was loved at all, He made her 'feel' loved and a very important part of his class. I would pray that I am a better person, a good parent and a happy person because of who HE WAS and will always be in my life. He is one of those people that honestly made me who I am today and hopefully is why my children are who they are today also... loving, kind, giving, patient, careful, wise... oh so wise... He was a father figure to me and I thank my Heavenly Father for putting him there when a little girl needed a father the most. Even though I only had him in one grade, one years, it was the seed that HE planted, that has grown and nourished me for a lifetime.

I have so many memories of Mr. Witt as my fourth grade teacher, the year we had class in the old appliance store while they tore down and rebuilt Trinity. It was an interesting year crammed into that tiny "classroom" but Mr. Witt made it fun. Prayers go out to his family and friends in this difficult time.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Witt.  He was a great teacher and will never be forgotten!

Over 20-plus years as Fred's neighbor, I can't count the times Fred offered his expert advice, opinion and wit to my many yard projects, always from the comfort of the sidewalk, I might add.  But what stands out most in remembering Fred was his unwavering love and devotion to his family.

We have been very close friends of the Witts for many years, and have shared many great times with Fred and enjoyed his smile and laughs. Mr Witt was fourth grade teacher to my daughters Monnie and Dana and then my granddaughter Tyna. His son was in Monnie's class. Mr Witt was one of my daughters and also my granddaugter's favorite teachers. He made learning fun. He was a kind gentle good Christian man. He and his wife were so good to each other. I am so saddened for his family. He was the kind of person that made a mark on one's life. Mr.Witt always seemed to have a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by so many...God's strength and peace that passes all understanding me with his family and friends.

I am so very sorry for your family's loss. He was an amazing teacher and friend. He exceeded in everything he did. He will be deeply missed.
