Frederick was born in Olowogbow area of Lagos Island, Nigeria on August 26th, 1945. To the family of Late Pa Fredric Olajide Ajuwon John-Adeyemi and Late Christiana Ibidunni Agbetoba of ALAKORO of Marina Lagos. The family migrated from Oyo town. He is a second generation prince of Oyo (Alafin of Oyo dynasty). He attended most of his Primary education in Nigeria (Methodist Primary school, Lagos and Abeokuta- Baptist Boy’s High school). After High school he worked briefly at the General Post office in Lagos. He later travelled to the USA to gain higher level education in New York; Bachelor of Science from Fordham University in Economics and Banking; Master of Business Administration from Long Island University.
He left the states in the late 1970’s and returned back to Nigeria. He worked in the banking and economics industry (Wema Bank) initially and later joined petroleum industries (Unipetrol Company). He later retired from Unipetrol to establish a Dry Cleaning Center –FAJSON operated for over 13years in Dopemu, Akowonjo area, Lagos. He also had a consulting service focused on petroleum products.
Upon returning to America, being a lover of God and academics. He earned another BA of Science in Biblical studies. He like his parents took to the Methodist denomination. Dad was an active participant of his church United Methodist, in bible study classes/groups, prayer sessions, and outreaches. He was an active member of the bible study group at his church. He also actively involved monetary giving to charities and organizations outreaches.
Mr. Frederick Akanni John and Late Mrs. Clementine Oladunni (Shitta) John; had a forty plus martial relationship. This resulted in four children (Christiana John; Esther Askew; Tina Kenny Benson, and Taiwo John) and currently six grandchildren.
We will miss our father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, father, and friend. He is survived by four children; six grandchildren, sister, brothers, cousins, nephews, nieces, other families and friends.
The Johns’ family are appreciative of all the loving supports that each person here has demonstrated. Your time, your thoughts, prayers and the inspirational words touches my families’ hearts. All the various condolences are being greatly valued. Thanks a lot for being here for us.
