With love for his country, Frank served as Corporal in the 2002nd Army Air Force Base Unit and received American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. In 1985 he retired from Hughes Tool Company after 40 years of service. Frank was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of Assumption Catholic church where he was a member of the Harvest Club, Knights of Columbus and The American Legion. He was especially proud of his Polish heritage. Among many hobbies Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to the casinos. He loved being with his family, visiting with neighbors and friends and going out to eat at Golden Restaurant.
He is preceded in death by his spouses, Helen Hyman York (1952-1998), Lucille York (1998-2019); parents, Mike and Mary York; brothers, John, Harold and Charlie York; Sisters, Martha York and Ann Grupa. Frank is survived by daughters Linda Kologinczak (Victor), Rose Bowser (Wayne) and Debbie Fischer (Steve), step-children Janice Leschber and Harold L Smith Jr.; 6 Grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; step –grandchildren 5; step - great grandchildren 9 and step great -great grandchildren 8; sisters, Betty Beier and Agatha (Aggie) Dial; brothers, Thomas (Tommy) York. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 Frank was put to rest on April 2, 2020 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, Texas 77060 joined by only immediate family.
Celebration of Life for Frank held July 10, 2021 at Assumption Catholic Church 901 Roselane St. Houston, Texas 77037 with Father Albert Zanatta as Celebrant.
Frank will be remembered for making people laugh with his funny sense of humor and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
